Culinary Dropout at the Yard
Phoenix, AZ
Vital Stats
Opened: 2013
Owned: Fox Restaurant Concepts
Size: +/- 4,000 SF
Team: PK Associates, TK Interior Construction, RSP, OMB Engineers, TwinEngine Design
Opened in 2013, Culinary Dropout at the Yard has become a central Phoenix destination and hangout. Brick & West's Michael Rumpeltin led the design of not only the shell building complex at The Yard, but also the interior spaces at Culinary Dropout and Little Cleo's. With 4,000 square-feet of interior space, and a massive outdoor patio, the Fox Restaurant Concepts restaurant is the Yard’s anchor tenant. Working with the existing 1950′s building, a former motorcycle dealership, an industrial palette of brick, glass, wood, and steel was developed for the interior spaces. The open kitchen is placed across from the huge indoor outdoor bar, with the indoor and outdoor dining rooms in-between. Exposed ductwork, industrial lighting, and custom furnishings compete the vibe.
What people are saying: “This place made me as happy as that old lady in the Scooter Store commercials.” – “For decor alone, Culinary Dropout gets 5 stars.” - “What an awesome concept!” – “OMG. I’m so jealous I don’t leave anywhere near this place.” -
